OVERVIEW


The Gidel HawkEye family of CoaXPress Frame Grabbers are high-end image acquisition boards with an option for on-board real-time image processing. The Frame Grabbers are supported by a friendly GUI application for both line and area scan cameras. In addition, Gidel provides an API suite for developing your custom application. The HawkEye Family also supports GenICam standard enabling camera configuration.

 

The Gidel CoaXPress system is unique in two aspects:

 

1. High-end Performance:
   ◦ Up to 25 Gb/s throughput
   ◦ Up to 4 CoaXPress cameras simultaneously on a single board
   ◦ 8-lanes PCI Express Gen 3 (PCIe x8 Gen 3) host interface for off-loading and co-processing
   ◦ Up to 16 GB of DDR4

 

2. Flexibility:
   ◦ Plug and play frame grabber supported by friendly GUI application
   ◦ API suite for user customized application
   ◦ Ability to support multiple-camera applications on a single board
   ◦ Support for for both Line and Area cameras
   ◦ Selective ROI grabbing using on-the-fly requests from user application.

 

The ProcFG supports all CoaXPress image formats, including Raw, Mono, Planar, Planar Raw, Bayer, RGB, RGBA, YUV, YCbCr601, YCbCr709.

 

Gidel also offers complete integration service according to customer's specifications.

    specifications Version 1.1, including the following CoaXPress image formats: Raw, Mono, Planar, Bayer, RGB,

    RGBA, YUV, YCbCr601 and YCbCr709 (8, 10, 12, 14 and 16 bits/color).
   ◦ Support for up to 4 CoaXPress (cXp-6) Channels
   ◦ 25 Gb/s image acquisition from up to 4 cameras
   ◦ Acquisition from Line and Frame cameras
¡á PCIe x8 Gen3 or Gen2 for up to 64 Gb/s
¡á Open architecture allowing integration of: ◦Option for implementing user algorithm in FPGA supported by auto-

    generated application driver and API
   ◦ Ability to add Gidel or user IP blocks for pipeline image processing
   ◦ Option for combining both image acquisition and image transmission
¡á Multi-operation modes:
   ◦ Conventional grabbing modes (pre-set scheme)
   ◦ Selective ROI grabbing using on-the-fly requests from user application
¡á Automatic partitioning of line scan (and large Area scan) camera input into frames, with a frame overlapping option.

    Frames may be grabbed in reference to global coordinates enabling easy comparison with reference image.
¡á RS422, opto-coupler, LVTTL and 30V at 0.9A IOs for optimized system connectivity allowing camera synchronizing

    and peripheral functionality
